Who Are Authors, Co-Authors, and Contributors?

When reporting and publishing research findings in a scientific manuscript, all authors, co-authors, and contributors should be mentioned in the manuscript. All mentions should be in compliance with the guidelines stipulated by organizations such as ICMJE or COPE. Interestingly, determining authorship is one of the most common causes of conflict during the publication process.
