Google Scholar Releases 2022 Scholar Metrics

Sorted by h-index over the last 5 years, Google Scholar released its scholar metrics for 2022. Google Scholar Metrics provide a simple way for authors on a single platform to gauge the visibility of research articles in scholarly publications.

Nature Publications becomes the top publishing platform in the 2022 version of Google Scholar Metrics. This release includes articles published in 2017–2021 and citations from all articles that were indexed in Google Scholar as of June 2022. The Scholar Metrics include journals from websites that follow Google Scholar’s inclusion guidelines and selected conferences in Engineering & Computer Science. It does not include publications with fewer than 100 articles in 2017-2021, or publications that received no citations in these years.

Google Scholar Metrics include a large number of publications in categories such as Life Sciences & Earth Sciences, Food Science & Technology, Sustainable Energy, or Public Health as well as broad areas like Business, Economics & Management or Chemical & Material Sciences. It also includes top 20 publications in the last five-year based on their h-index and h-median metrics. Furthermore, the Google Scholar Metrics allows browsing the top 100 publications in several languages—such as, Japanese, KoreanPortuguese, Spanish, etc. All top papers of each publication can be viewed by clicking on the h5-index of the metrics list.
