A Global Survey Exploring the Impact of COVID-19 on the Research Ecosystem

The implications of COVID-19 in academia have been far-reaching. While the impediments are substantial and unprecedented, it is critical to assess the impact of this global health crisis, forecast the challenges, and plan well ahead of time.

We are extremely excited to announce the launch of the first instalment of our Global Research Risk Assessment survey series that aims to understand how the current pandemic is affecting the scholarly community and the research output, primarily in terms of productivity and dissemination of knowledge. Collating and sharing this information will be essential for assessing the current issues faced by researchers and subsequently forecasting the potential hiccups that the publishing community might need to address in the near future. Furthermore, this survey will aid in understanding the current state of COVID-19 research at both institutional and individual levels.

What is the survey about?

This survey addresses the following important aspects, among a few others:

  • How has COVID-19 impacted international activity, specifically pertaining to the mobility of international students?
  • Have modern technologies, e-learning systems, and artificial intelligence found their way into your labs and classrooms?
  • Have there been any resource constraints, particularly in terms of finances?
  • Has your institute been actively contributing towards research studies on COVID-19?

You can make a difference by completing this survey that seeks to understand how academia is enduring in this dynamic environment.

The survey is available in English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Spanish and ends on June 30, 2020. It will only take 5 minutes to complete the survey and all your information will be kept confidential. Please feel free to share the link with your colleagues, peers, students, and collaborators and invite them to voice their opinions, too! Feel free to connect with us at academy@enago.com for any doubts or suggestions. We will share the results of this survey publicly and also keep you updated on the next survey instalment.

Let’s put our hands together and help each other adapt, learn, and turn challenges into opportunities.

Thank you!
