Publishing in Medicine — Tips to Avoid Common Pitfalls

Session Agenda

Peer-reviewed medical journals are the most reliable source of information communicating important research findings to physicians, healthcare professionals, and the entire scientific community. However, preparing manuscripts as per the stipulated guidelines and publishing them successfully in established medical journals could be challenging especially, for early-stage researchers. We are glad to announce that The Royal Society of Medicine in collaboration with Karger Publishers and Enago will conduct an informative session for medical researchers to help them understand the most common errors made while drafting manuscripts and how to avoid them proficiently. Through this session, researchers will have an improved understanding of the following:

  • Importance of a strong basis: Know your literature
  • Establishing a robust study design
  • Importance of high-quality statistics
  • Significance of good academic writing skills
  • Adhering to research and publication ethics
  • Expert tips on choosing the right journal and carefully following the manuscript submission guidelines
  • Handling the peer review process professionally
