Enago’s Author Workshops Help Chinese Researchers Increase Awareness of Academic Publishing

Beijing, China: Enago has endeavored to assist Chinese researchers in increasing their chances of publication in international peer-reviewed journals. Recently, in April and May, in collaboration with 15+ well-known Chinese universities such as Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Institute of Technology, and University of Science and Technology Beijing, Shenzhen University etc., Enago conducted a series of workshops in China. These workshops were focused towards providing effective tips for first-time manuscript acceptance, suggestions for improving chances of publication in international journals, as well as awareness for open access publishing in China.

The sessions were conducted by Dr. Mingfang Lu, General Manager, Enago, who is also a distinguished publishing expert having >15 years of experience in the academic publishing industry and has worked with leading publishers like IOP. At the end of the sessions, participants also had one-to-one sessions with Dr Lu in which they could discuss challenges faced during publication. “This series of workshops was targeted to help impart some critical insights about how submission-ready manuscripts should be prepared, the importance of adherence to journal guidelines, as well as increasing importance of open access publishing. We will continue to build on this initiative to assist Chinese researchers in understanding the expectations of international journals,” said Dr Lu, General Manager, Enago (China).

Professor Qiang Zhang, Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University (THU) commented, “Writing and publishing English scientific papers is very important for sharing research results and gaining peer recognition. I think Enago’s workshop had covered all relevant aspects including publishing ethics, open access, etc. in detail which was especially helpful for graduate students.”

Professor Yadong Wei, Director of Journal of Shenzhen University Science Edition and School of Physics, Shenzhen University mentioned, “We are extremely impressed with Enago’s workshop as it has covered all the aspects of writing a research article, starting from the overall planning and structuring to the proper use of tenses, referencing of literature, and how to respond to reviewer’s comments.
