Global Peer Review Survey 2020

Peer review is an integral part of the academic publishing lifecycle. It is through this rigorous quality control process that scientific literature is verified before being made available to the general public. However, in recent times, peer review has faced a number of criticisms from fake reviews to the amount of time taken for reviews.

We take this opportunity to announce the second installment of our Research Risk Assessment initiative through this short but specific survey on peer review.

Your participation in this important survey on peer review will help us understand the various nuances that the art and science of peer review present. Enago is part of the Peer Review Week Committee this year, and your thoughts and opinions will be instrumental in propelling the discussion around the possible solutions and innovations in the peer review process.

The survey should only take 3–5 minutes, and your responses are completely anonymous. You can take the survey only once, but you can edit your responses until the survey is closed on September 30, 2020.

Decoding the Peer Review Process

Peer review plays an important role not only for authors but also for reviewers. Authors benefit by having their papers vetted by experts in their field and receive feedback for improving their papers to ensure a successful publication.

On the other hand, reviewers benefit from having access to cutting-edge research thereby enhancing their overall knowledge in their area of research. Reviewers also benefit from the recognition they receive when reviewing for top journals as well as the respect they get from authors that consider them as experts in the respective fields.

In this exclusive handbook developed in collaboration with Clarivate, we cover the key aspects that reviewers should keep in mind when reviewing manuscripts and providing constructive feedback to authors. Furthermore, it also covers points that authors should follow when addressing reviewers’ comments for their manuscript. So, go ahead and register to receive your copy of this insightful handbook directly in your inbox during the Peer Review Week.
