Founded in 1984, the World Quality Commitment Awards are presented by Business Initiative Directions (B.I.D.), an organization that recognizes companies worldwide for their implementation and promotion of quality culture. This year, companies from 74 countries gathered to receive the awards in Paris. Voting for the awards is conducted during the B.I.D. World Congress over a period of 10 months, with meetings in Paris, London, Geneva, Frankfurt, Madrid, and New York. Companies are selected on the basis of the QC100 model of Total Quality Management (TQM). This model keeps quality at the center of all company activities, from customer satisfaction to leadership, technology, and business results.
The voting process is a lengthy one, comprising personal encounters with business leaders through mails and online polls. B.I.D. also gathers information through consultation with media, consultancy companies, advertising agencies, trade fairs and exhibits, chambers of commerce, and embassies. All this is analyzed by the World Quality Commitment Award Selection Committee, which makes the final decision to select the awardees.

Crimson Interactive added another feather to its cap when it received the prestigious Red Herring Top 100 Global Award for 2010. This prestigious award recognizes the 100 "Most Promising" companies in the world, driving the future of technology. Crimson Interactive (Brand: Enago) won this award in Los Angeles on January 26, 2011.
Earlier, it won the award for the Asia-Pacific region, which confirmed its eligibility to compete at the global level. Crimson (Brand: Enago) is the only academic editing company in the world to have won this award ever–both at the Asia-Pacific and Global level. This coveted distinction was awarded following rigorous evaluation by a panel that comprised, among others, venture capitalists and serial entrepreneurs.
Crimson has been instrumental in introducing several novel processes and systems to the editing industry. The Editing Quality Management System (EQMS) instituted by Crimson is one of the best, and the Twin Editor model is a practice that is now followed by several other editing companies worldwide.
This recognition puts Crimson (and Enago) in the exalted company of Google, Yahoo, and YouTube, which have been accorded similar recognition in the past.

We intend to use the blog as a medium to directly communicate with the research community. Researchers are welcome to provide feedback, and also share their knowledge and experience. In line with our efforts to help ESL authors publish their research in English journals, we released our first book in Japanese 英語のバカヤロー! ~「英語の壁」に挑んだ12人の日本人~. The title if literally translated reads "English idiot! I hate you—12 Japanese authors who tackled the English language barrier". Written by Yuko Furuya, the Head of Crimson Japan, the book presents the experiences of 12 Japanese authors, including Nobel Prize nominees Shuji Nakamura, Takeshi Yoro, Chizuko Ueno, and Heizo Takenaka, who overcame the English language barrier to publish their work in international journals. The book presents interesting accounts of authors who fought the non-native bias and became fluent English speakers. Humorous, insightful, and inspiring, the book is an initiative by Crimson to reach out to the academic community in Japan.

Our CEO, Sharad Mittal, was awarded the Indian Achievers Award for Corporate Leadership by the All India Achievers Foundation. The award was conferred in recognition of Sharad’s excellent leadership skills that transformed Crimson Interactive from a 3-member team to 60-member organization within a span of 3 years. At the awards ceremony, Sharad was also lauded for being one of the youngest CEOs to receive the award. His sharp sense of business and client knowledge enabled Enago to be among the top three editing companies in Japan.
