Crimson Interactive attends the Localization World Conference held in Vancouver, Canada, October 29–31
Localization World is the leading conference for international business, translation, localization and global website management. It provides a great opportunity for exchanging high-value information in the language and translation services and technologies market. Attendees are professionals responsible for communicating across the boundaries of language and culture in the global marketplace.
The theme of the conference was Disruptive Innovation and over 500 language professionals were in attendance. The conference was especially valuable for companies wanting to venture into new international markets, as they were able to attend sessions on Global Business Best Practices and the Localization Core Competencies tracks as well as the informative exhibition area.
Experienced professionals were there to learn about new tools, methods, and business practices in the areas of localization and internationalization. Networking and mutual problem discussion opportunities were available at all sessions and at the social gatherings, meals, and break periods. A large group of exhibitors was also present to provide information about their products and services.
The keynote speaker, Mark DeVolder, provided insight on how to adapt to the changing environment with his opening address, Harness the Hurricane: Adapt to Extreme Change and Achieve New Heights. There were a total of 48 sessions running concurrently and those included topics such as
- Two Disruptive Technology Partners Providers Present Their Futures
- Translation Supply Chain Management
- Measuring Translation Quality
- Thinking Strategically About Content and Communication
There was also a wonderful dinner and networking session at the Vancouver Aquarium as well as a Newbies Dinner the first evening of the conference. Overall, we found the conference very beneficial in terms of learning about new technologies and strategies and simply having the ability to network with such a large and diverse group of technology and language providers.
