These awards recognize organizations that develop or launch innovative and transformative products, services, or projects that are relevant to scholarly publishing.<\/p>\n<h2>Finalists<\/h2>\n<p>According to chair David Sommer, the APLSP awards panel judged over<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stm-publishing.com\/alpsp-awards-for-innovation-in-publishing-shortlist-announcement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> 40 high-quality applications<\/a>.\u00a0The applications are judged on the level of innovation and significance of the product development. Finally, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchinformation.info\/news\/alpsp-announces-awards-shortlist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the winner must<\/a> \u201cdemonstrate excellence in\u2026originality and innovation, significance and value to the community, utility, and long-term viability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The finalists\u00a0were recently announced and the following participants made it to the top:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>INASP AuthorAid<\/li>\n<li>Publons<\/li>\n<li>Delta Think Open Access Data Analytics Tool<\/li>\n<li>Springer Nature SharedIt<\/li>\n<li>Escalex\u00ae (IFIS Publishing and Molecular Connections)<\/li>\n<li>SourceData(EMBO)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These finalists will present their submissions to a panel of judges that comprises of consultants, librarians, publishers, and product developers. The \u00a0ALPSP award will be given to the product that is judged most innovative, significant, useful, and viable over the long-term application in the industry.<\/p>\n<h2>ALPSP 10<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Conference<\/h2>\n<p>This conference will take place between 13<sup>th<\/sup> -15<sup>th<\/sup> \u00a0September 2017 in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. The winner will be announced at the Conference Awards Dinner on 14<sup>th<\/sup> \u00a0September. Attendees will get an\u00a0opportunity to experience and share recent updates and\u00a0information related to scholarly publishing. More importantly, the challenges that are faced by the publishing industry will be critically analyzed and discussed amongst experts.<\/p>\n<p>These innovators represent the high-quality applications that have tried to address the need of reforms in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.enago.com\/publication-support-services\/peer-review-process\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"115\" title=\"Peer Review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">peer review<\/a> process or change the landscape of open access publishing.
