This key event for the academic community attracts an from all sectors of the industry to discuss and debate the latest developments in scholarly publishing. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/rajivshirke\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rajiv Shirke<\/a>, Vice President, Global Operations for Enago\u2019s parent company, Crimson Interactive, represented Enago at this\u00a0event.<\/p>\n<p>Formed more than 40 years ago, ALPSP is the largest international association for nonprofit scholarly and professional publishers. Its 400+ members across 40 countries produce more than 10,000 journals, as well as numerous books, reports, databases, and other products and services. The\u00a0annual conference, held this year at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel &amp; Conference Centre London Heathrow, is an ideal forum in which experts from various get to network and learn about new initiatives in the publishing industry and discuss the challenges ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Keynote speakers included <strong>Anurag Acharya<\/strong>, co-creator of <a href=\"http:\/\/scholar.google.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Scholar<\/a>, who spoke on \u201cWhat happens when your library is worldwide and all articles are easy to find?\u201d and <strong>Kuansan Wang<\/strong>, Director, Internet Service Research Center at <a href=\"http:\/\/research.microsoft.com\/en-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Research<\/a>, who addressed the session on \u201cFrom Web Publishing to Knowledge Web Publishing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe organizers delivered on their promise to provide thought-provoking, practical, and interactive sessions on a wide range of topics,\u201d said Rajiv. \u201cThe excellent lineup of speakers included Peter Richardson, Managing Director, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boneandjoint.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Editorial Society of Bone &amp; Joint Surgery<\/a>, who conducted the session on &#8220;Partnering with Others to Expand Your Global Reach.&#8221; Small publishers cannot\u00a0do everything themselves and neither can large publishers in many cases.
