In fact, this is how everyone is greeting each other amidst the COVID-19 crisis and very aptly so.<\/p>\n<p>So, how are you coping with this sudden crisis and the indefinite lockdown? In our previous article, we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.enago.com\/academy\/stuck-amidst-the-covid-19-crisis-enago-academy-is-here-to-help\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shared a handful of our useful resources<\/a> that you could check out. We hope they have been helpful in your publication journey.<\/p>\n<p>Below are some more resources that has been made available during this crisis.<\/p>\n<div id=\"om-dqx4acd1ednpm2dtmovz-holder\"><\/div>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/a.opmnstr.com\/app\/js\/api.min.js\" data-campaign=\"dqx4acd1ednpm2dtmovz\" data-user=\"41855\" async><\/script>\t<\/p>\n<h2>Read Through all the COVID-19 Open Research<\/h2>\n<p>COVID-19 has been wreaking havoc globally since the start of 2020. This has led to several publishers making all the research papers on COVID-19 open. In fact, according to a press release from Wellcome Trust, more than 30\u00a0leading publishers have committed to make all their COVID-19 and coronavirus-related publications, open to the public. These publications, along with the available data supporting them, <a href=\"https:\/\/wellcome.ac.uk\/press-release\/publishers-make-coronavirus-covid-19-content-freely-available-and-reusable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">have been made immediately accessible<\/a> in PubMed Central (PMC) and other public repositories. Among these publishers are important names such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/connect\/coronavirus-information-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Elsevier<\/a>, American Chemical Society (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acs.org\/content\/acs\/en\/covid-19.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ACS<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/coronavirus-research-commentary-and-news?utm_source=newsletters&amp;utm_medium=newsletter&amp;utm_campaign=coronaviruseditorsnote-24030&amp;et_rid=286036163&amp;et_cid=3256069\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Science<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.springernature.com\/gp\/researchers\/campaigns\/coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Springer Nature<\/a>, EMBO Press, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmj.com\/coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">BMJ<\/a>, New England Journal of Medicine (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nejm.org\/coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">NEJM<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/taylorandfrancis.com\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Taylor &amp; Francis<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/novel-coronavirus.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Wiley<\/a>, and many more. This would help the academic community to support the ongoing public health emergency response efforts and provide researchers globally with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stm-assoc.org\/about-the-industry\/coronavirus-2019-ncov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">critical information<\/a> needed to remedy the outbreak.<\/p>\n<h2>Conference Got Cancelled Due to COVID-19 Crisis? Present Your Data Online<\/h2>\n<p>With the sudden lockdown and travel ban, there have been several researchers who could not participate in conferences. So what is the next course of action?<\/p>\n<p>eLife will be hosting online seminars to support early-career researchers in <a href=\"https:\/\/elifesciences.org\/inside-elife\/1a9d9c08\/elife-and-covid-19-keeping-communications-open-with-online-research-talks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">presenting their research online instead of in-person<\/a>. Starting from March 26, these online seminars will be hosted twice a week. With each of these open sessions being presided over by an eLife editor, three early career researchers (ECRs) will present a 10-minute talk with five minutes for questions afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the most important criterion to qualify for these sessions is \u201cbeen accepted to present a talk at a conference that has been cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19 with no virtual talk offered as a replacement!\u201d This is indeed a novel idea of boosting the ECRs\u2019 career using virtual media as the forum.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the ACS launched <a href=\"https:\/\/www.morressier.com\/acs-scimeetings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">SciMeetings<\/a>, a virtual science-sharing platform developed in collaboration with other ACS divisions for sharing research from the now-canceled ACS Philadelphia national meeting.<\/p>\n<h2>Podcast Exclusively Sharing COVID-19 Updates<\/h2>\n<p>We have numerous news information outlets sharing COVID-19 updates from all over the world. But what about updates from the medical community? How far have we reached in controlling the pandemic? <em>Nature<\/em> has recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-020-00800-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">published a podcast<\/a> wherein epidemiologists, genomicists, and social scientists share their insights and discoveries about how they&#8217;re working to tackle the coronavirus and what they&#8217;ve learned so far. We are surely not going to miss it and neither should you!<\/p>\n<p>We discussed in our previous article that several researchers have had to leave their research midway as laboratories have shutdown. One such Italian researcher who had to leave his research as his laboratory shut down <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-020-00826-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">gives us a first-hand account of his experience<\/a> in a blog article in <em>Nature<\/em>. The most interesting feature of this blog article is that not only does he share his first-hand experience, but he also shares how he and his colleagues faced the situation and are currently making the best of the quarantine period.<\/p>\n<h2>Some Social Distancing Tips<\/h2>\n<p>Social distancing is a term that is become popular during this period of lockdown. Scholarly Kitchen has <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarlykitchen.sspnet.org\/2020\/03\/17\/building-your-remote-workforce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">published an article on why social distancing is important<\/a>, along with a few tips on how organizations that are working from home can cope with the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some additional resources discussing the latest on COVID-19:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Launch of a global megatrial of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/news\/2020\/03\/who-launches-global-megatrial-four-most-promising-coronavirus-treatments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">most promising coronavirus treatments<\/a> by WHO.<\/li>\n<li>An interesting video on possible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SSuxVwMkcpA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">coronavirus vaccines<\/a> and how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biorxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2020.03.20.000141v2.full.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">machine learning<\/a> can be used to find a cure.<\/li>\n<li>Guidance for authorship resulting due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ismpp.org\/assets\/images\/ISMPP%20Official%20Guidance%20on%20Authorship%20and%20Coronavirus.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">author non-responsiveness<\/a> during the outbreak.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding how <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarlykitchen.sspnet.org\/2020\/03\/23\/academic-library-response-to-covid19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">academic libraries<\/a> are dealing with the COVID-19 crisis.<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/news\/free-student-etextbook-programme-18-mar-2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">nation-wide program<\/a> in UK launched by Kortext in conjunction with Jisc aims to provide university students and academic staff access to key digital learning resources during the review and exam period.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>While working from home, we have also found several helpful tips in this article.
