June 2019, South Korea<\/strong>: Author Outreach Programs are one of the strategies in Enago\u2019s goal to improve the quality of research publications and facilitate the publication journey of researchers. As part of this initiative, Enago recently conducted a series of interactive workshops in leading medical centers and research institutions in South Korea, including Eulji Medical Center<\/em>, Cha Medical University<\/em>, Pohang University of Science and Technology<\/em>, and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology<\/em>. The workshops were attended by academicians from a diverse STEM background, with the majority being medical researchers with varying levels of research experience. We are happy to announce that the response from the attendees has been overwhelmingly positive.<\/p>\n

Dr. Krishna Kumar Venkitachalam (Senior Managing Editor, Enago Academy), who conducted the workshops, addressed some of the key challenges faced by first-time authors while drafting their manuscripts. The topics covered included tips on writing and structuring the manuscripts, doing a high-quality literature review<\/a>, best practices for avoiding plagiarism, understanding the peer review<\/a> process, and strategies for handling rejections. The Q&A sessions at the end of the sessions featured questions on interpreting and addressing reviewer comments and improving paraphrasing skills to avoid plagiarism.<\/p>\n

The one-on-one consultation sessions were the highlights among the workshops. In these sessions, Dr. Venkitachalam provided individualized advice and have in-depth discussions with researchers and research groups on the research details and\/or draft manuscripts they had shared beforehand. Our extensive experience in helping ESL authors publish successfully in high-impact journals helped to make the one-on-one sessions engaging and insightful for the researchers.<\/p>\n

Kushal Bhardwaj<\/a>, Vice President-Strategic Initiatives & Business Head-Research Publication Support Solutions shared his observations on the workshops: \u201cThe large numbers of researchers in attendance for these workshops confirms the need of educating researchers about not merely conducting research work but also communicating it accurately and effectively.
