Alzheimers is a disease that has affected several, with no possible cure as of now. But researchers at Toronto\u2019s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) have discovered a drug that can actually reverse the memory loss. According to the recent study published in Molecular Neuropsychiatry<\/em>, these molecules could bind and activate the receptor targets of the GABA neurotransmitter system, thereby fixing the impairments that may have possibly caused the memory loss. On administering a single dose of these molecules to pre-clinical models with stress-induced memory loss, the memory performance resumed to normal in about 30 minutes. In another experiment replacing pre-clinical models of stress-induced memory loss with that of aging, these molecules showed similar results. These results have much broader applications, which the researchers are yet to find out.<\/p>\n
