You could encounter different types of scientific research misconduct at different stages, right from the origination of different types of scientific studies itself to the publication of the results.<\/p>\n<h2>Common Types of Scientific Misconduct<\/h2>\n<p>Listed below are the top 10 transgressions that\u00a0peer reviewers\u00a0and journal editors look for, incorporating content from both the\u00a0<em>World Association of Medical Editors<\/em>\u00a0(WAME), and the\u00a0<em>US Office of Research Integrity<\/em>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Misappropriation of Ideas<\/strong>\u2013 taking the intellectual property of others, perhaps as a result of reviewing someone else\u2019s article or manuscript, or grant application and proceeding with the idea as your own.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plagiarism<\/strong>\u2013 utilizing someone else\u2019s words, published work, research processes, or results\u00a0without giving appropriate credit via full citation.
