Ask the Moon!

Are you one of those who like days more than nights? If yes, then this piece of information might be interesting to you. Researchers from the University of Wisconsin have published a paper that states the days are getting longer on Earth. They also feel that the Moon is responsible for that. The researchers have discovered this theory on the basis of a type of technology called astrochronology that links astronomical theory with geological observation. This theory states that about 1.4 billion years ago, the duration of daytime on Earth roughly comprised 18 hours a day. This was possibly due to the presence of Moon nearby. The researchers have explained this as the gravitational forces of Moon interfering with the gravitational force of the Earth, such that the days got longer. As time passed, the Moon gradually moved away from the Earth, decreasing the length of the day.

To know more, click here now!

Are you one of those who like days more than nights?
