Researchers at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, from University of California, San Diego have come up with another discovery. According to them, ocean tides release bacteria and viruses coated with waxy material or lipids, on crashing onto the shores. This suggests that these microorganisms have so high water-repelling properties that they are thrown out of the water, onto the shores. The bacterial strains isolated from the ocean include Actinobacteria and Corynebacteria, while the viral strains include Herpesvirales and many more harmful strains of bacteria and virus. Researchers are concerned about the health disorders that may be caused due to ingestion of such contaminated aerosol-rich sea breeze.

To know more, click here now!

Microorganisms are released into the atmosphere through several processes of nature.
