The conference was held in the city of Florian\u00f3polis in Santa Catarina, Brazil, for individuals and companies involved in the publication of Brazilian technical and scientific journals.<\/p>\n<p>Enago and Ulatus sponsored this year\u2019s conference, which was special in that it celebrated ABEC\u2019s 30th anniversary. Founded in 1985 with the mission to develop and enhance technical and scientific publishing in Brazil, ABEC has since brought together countless academic and industry experts to debate current issues and defend common interests. While every annual meeting provides a forum to exchange information and ideas, this year\u2019s range of courses and lectures specifically focused on the industry\u2019s most current opportunities and challenges, including the heightened need to stay updated on the latest research developments in order to produce quality content and expand the production volume in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that ABEC is now celebrating its 30th anniversary is a testament to the strength and promise of scientific publishing in Brazil.\u201d said Gregory Loxton, VP of North American Operations for Crimson Interactive. \u201cWe are investing a great deal of our efforts on extending language assistance and publication support to this community to help them share their work internationally.
